Kjaerland (JGK makers mark) was a well known Norwegian jeweller and enamelist, in which he specialised in Plique jour work. His business lasted between the years of 1900 and 1920, but his work is fantastic! The term plique jour literally translates into English as "letting in daylight", for the obvious reason that the light is allowed to pass through the coloured enamel work just like stained glass.
