1/23 Lone Star Police/Law Enforcement as part of Operation Inherent1st Battalion, 23rd Marines (1 23) An infantry battalion in the United States Marine Corps reserve, located throughout Texas and Louisiana, consisting of approximately 1000 Marines and Sailors. They fall under the command of the 23rd Marine Regiment and the 4th Marine Division. Motto: Lone Star Insignia: The imagery features a combination of dogs, a knife bayonet, and a backdrop of lava rock. Nicknames: Lone Star Their Companies include: Headquarters
